Cloudera is looking for an experienced, motivated, independent and driven senior software engineer for the Cloudera DataFlow team to own and deliver Cloudera DataFlow Experience (DFX) releases. This is an exciting opportunity to gather experience with Apache NiFi and many more.

As a Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be working in a distributed development team (US, Hungary). You will support DFX releases, develop test framework built to validate DFX functionalities to help us move our products to the next level, to be more supportable, enterprise ready and feature-rich so that more and more enterprises could start using them.

As a Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test you will :

Drive Cloudera DataFlow Experience releases, perform system test analysis

Improve existing test framework written in Java to validate DFX

Improve existing integration tests, as well as design and implement new ones

Gain a solid understanding and deep technical knowledge of data flow management components across the Hadoop stack, which you can utilize in your daily tasks

Debug system level deployment issues, root cause analysis, and resolve failures

Work with modern, k8s based test infrastructure

Work on improving the internal infrastructure

Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

We're excited about you if you have :

Relevant studies / BS or MS in Computer Science or related field

4+ years of experience in designing and developing software solutions

Experience with Java language

Experience with test frameworks

Development experience in Linux environments

Strong oral and written communication skills in English

Solid interpersonal skills conducive to a distributed team environment

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Ability to identify critical weak spots in software systems

Self-driven & motivated personality

You may also have :

Experience with cloud platform services (any or all of Azure / AWS / Google) is a plus

Hands-on experience with containerization orchestration technologies : Kubernetes, Docker is a plus.

Hands-on knowledge of Ansible is a plus.

Hands-on knowledge of Python is a plus.

Big Data / data flow management experience is a plus
