We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer – Shopify & Liquid Specialist to join our fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll lead the development of high-performance Shopify storefronts, crafting advanced Liquid templates and integrating with Shopify APIs. This role is perfect for engineers who thrive in a collaborative setting, delivering fast, accessible, and high-converting user experiences across international markets.
Our client works in the technology industry, creating scalable ecommerce solutions that help businesses expand their digital footprint globally. You will work closely with design, content, and growth teams to continuously optimize and elevate storefront performance.
This project focuses on building and maintaining advanced Shopify platforms that are fast, accessible, and conversion-optimized.
Location : Must reside and have work authorization in Latin America.
Availability : Must be available to work with significant overlap with Mountain Standard Time (MST).
The Ideal Candidate Has :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. A combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
- 5–8+ years of professional web development experience, with 3+ years focused specifically on Shopify and Liquid.
- Deep expertise in Shopify Online Store 2.0 architecture, including themes, sections / blocks, metafields, and Shopify CLI.
- Strong command of HTML, CSS / SCSS, modern JavaScript / TypeScript, and performance optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with Shopify Storefront / Admin APIs (GraphQL preferred), webhooks, and app integrations (subscriptions, search, reviews, loyalty, analytics).
- Proven success improving Core Web Vitals and ecommerce conversion rates at scale.
- Solid understanding of Git / GitHub workflows, code reviews, and CI / CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Experience in building accessible, WCAG-conformant web experiences.
- Excellent communication skills in English (C1 preferred, strong B2 may be considered).
Key Responsibilities :
Build and maintain Shopify themes and templates using Liquid, JSON templates, HTML / CSS / SCSS, and JavaScript / TypeScript.Extend Shopify functionality with Functions (checkout / cart / pricing), Checkout Extensibility, and custom / private apps via GraphQL / REST APIs.Optimize performance through CDN strategies, lazy loading, structured data, and semantic markup.Manage internationalization via Shopify Markets, currencies, duties / taxes, and multi-region configurations.Ensure quality and reliability through automated testing (Playwright / Cypress, Jest), performance monitoring, and type-safe code.Collaborate with Design (Figma), Content, and Growth teams to deliver and iterate on user experiences.Mentor junior / mid engineers and participate in code reviews.Analyze production issues and user funnels (GA4, GTM, Search Console) to continuously improve conversion and user satisfaction.Perks of working at FusionHit :
