What is the role?
The Accounting Associate Manager leads the Accounting department for the Fixed and Mobile businesses. Their main responsibilities include supervising the team, preparing the complete accounting cycle, preparing financial reports, drafting narratives, justifying variances, and reconciling and reviewing accounts.
Additionally, they work on analyzing and ensuring the quality of accounting information, ensuring that both monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, as well as various tasks and reports, are delivered according to the deadlines set by the Reporting team in Denver.
The role also involves executing the relevant SOX controls for the processes under their responsibility and leading a team focused on achieving short-, medium-, and long-term goals.
How will you add value?
- Preparing activities, procedures, and controls related to revenues and expenses, in accordance with local standards (IFRS) and US GAAP for LLA.
- Executing, documenting, and applying defined controls (SOX).
- Reviewing and ensuring the proper upload of the Validation Tool file to HFM.
- Developing policies and procedures, and applying new accounting standards.
- Leading and participating in area improvement projects.
- Managing the Accounting team, aligning priorities, providing guidance and clarity, as well as supporting direct reports and supervising staff.
- Reviewing and validating the documentation from the Controllership department that supports the Representation Letter each quarter.
- Managing the SAP S4 Hana system and the HFM consolidation system.
- Executing and supervising the complete accounting cycle.
- Coordinating and supervising monthly closing activities.
- Being responsible for the reconciliation and review / approval of account reconciliations.
- Preparing, reviewing, and approving journal entries.
- Analyzing costs, expenses, and revenues.
- Verifying and ensuring the accuracy of monthly and quarterly reports.
- Ensuring reconciliation between the SAP S4 Hana ERP and HFM.
- Verifying and approving payments through various banking platforms.
- Leading and managing internal and external audits.
- Controlling prepaid expenses.
What will you need?
Five (5) years of experience managing accounting standards, IFRS and US GAAP, and SOX controls in multinational companies.Three (3) years of experience managing staff, leading, and supervising Accounting teams.Certified academic background with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.Experience in account reconciliations and analysis.Experience participating in and leading audits, and working with government entities (desirable).Knowledge of taxes (desirable).Advanced or native proficiency of Spanish language.
