Payroll Assistant - (Costa Rica)

About Your Role :   We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Assistant to join our growing team in Costa Rica!

As a key member of the Finance Department, this role supports accurate and timely payroll processing for a global workforce.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Total Rewards, the Payroll Assistant will be responsible for auditing payroll files, supporting biweekly and off-cycle payroll runs, and reviewing payroll journal entries for accuracy and compliance.

• What You’ll Do : Prepare and audit payroll batches for biweekly and off-cycle payroll runs Audit reports for accurate payroll assignments Manage and audit payroll data across multiple systems and sources, including internal HR portals, tax agencies, benefits platforms, and retirement portals Review and reconcile payroll journal entries and ensure accurate flow of payroll data into accounting systems Prepare, review and reconcile insurance invoices to payroll activity Partner with the People team to maintain accurate employee records and ensure data consistency across systems Support payroll compliance efforts by assisting with documentation, reporting, and internal audits   Who You Are :   You have exceptional attention to detail and pride yourself on delivering accurate work You meet deadlines consistently and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment You maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion You’re a proactive problem-solver and always looking for ways to improve and scale processes You have a collaborative spirit and communicate clearly across time zones and teams Ability to be a Independent Contributor in your role   Experience & Qualifications :   1+ years of experience in Payroll, Human Resources, or a related administrative field Experience with payroll processing and / or HRIS systems required; familiarity with Paylocity or similar tools is a plus Strong working knowledge of Excel, including basic formulas, filtering, and data manipulation Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required Experience supporting a U.S.-based or global payroll function is highly desirable Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities   Additional Information : This is a remote position based in Costa Rica Work hours must align with U.S.
