JOB TITLE : Buyer

JOB SUMMARY

Manage the procurement and supply of materials to support the factory production plan. Help ensure material supply meets material demand to support factory production in a timely and cost-effective manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manage a portfolio of vendors and drive material supply in line with factory demand.
  • Review MRP in SAP to assess Raw Material demand and plan procurement activities accordingly.
  • Manage Raw Material Inventory based on the demand forecast.
  • Conduct weekly supplier reviews to help maintain supplier on time delivery performance, focusing on service and delivery targets.
  • Execute rolling forecasts & Purchase Orders to the supply base in a timely manner to ensure flexible production planning & supply to meet factory requirements.
  • Utilize SAP to generate reports & extract data to manage forecasting, supply and planning of materials to and from the factory.
  • Review and placement of orders for Raw Material parts for New Product introduction projects.
  • Ensure that master data is accurate and up to date to support procurement decisions.
  • Identify opportunities to achieve positive cost savings across the supply chain.
  • Ensure timely actions of Non Conformance for the items to be returned to the vendor.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop strong relationships with other internal functions including Quality, Engineering, Production and Sales Teams.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
  • Experience

  • Minimum 0- 3 years experience.
  • Experience gained within a hi-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles preferred.
  • Skills

  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong data management and analytical skills.
  • Adaptable, flexible and able to work with minimum supervision while prioritizing tasks.
