Job Summary :
The IT Manager oversees the delivery, support, and continuous improvement of IT infrastructure and services within the Costa Rica site. This role ensures stable, secure, and optimized IT operations across systems, including ERP, PLM, MES, industrial networks, and production-floor technologies. The manager will lead service delivery teams, manage vendors, and align IT service management (ITSM) processes with the organization's manufacturing and business objectives.
Responsibilities :
- Ensure consistent and reliable delivery of IT services supporting manufacturing operations (MES, SCADA, PLC connectivity, ERP integration, shop-floor PCs, etc.)
- Define, monitor, and report on SLAs, KPIs, and service availability for local plant systems and users
- Develop and maintain knowledge base documentation and manuals for manufacturing IT services
- Deliver monthly and quarterly service performance reports highlighting uptime, incidents, and improvement initiatives
- Oversee site disaster recovery and business continuity for IT systems
- Lead incident resolution for critical production-impacting IT issues; drive root cause analysis (RCA) and permanent corrective actions
- Manage change control processes in production environments, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing schedules and business systems
- Maintain a problem management log and drive continuous improvement based on recurring issues
- Oversee the IT infrastructure (servers, networks, users) for the site including support in manufacturing (industrial networks, edge servers, HMI terminals, IoT gateways, etc.)
- Coordinate system patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management for software and hardware
- Partner with automation and OT (Operational Technology) teams to ensure secure, compliant connectivity between IT and OT infrastructure
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices in manufacturing environments, including access controls, patching, and threat monitoring
- Ensure best practices with ISO 27001, NIST, or other applicable manufacturing and IT security standards
- Manage third-party vendors providing IT support, manufacturing software, and hardware services
- Collaborate with plant managers, process engineers, and business leadership to align IT priorities with site goals
- Lead service review meetings with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Identify opportunities for automation, digitalization, and efficiency improvements at the site
- Support Industry 4.0 initiatives - IoT data integration, predictive maintenance, and smart factory solutions
- Deliver annual service improvement plans, cost saving goals, and technology roadmaps for the site
- Implement IT strategies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements for the Costa Rica site as aligned to global initiatives
- Collaborate with production, quality, regulatory, and R&D teams to align technology with manufacturing and compliance needs
Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)Advanced spoken and written English7+ years of IT service management experience, with at least 3 years in a medical manufacturing environmentITIL v4 certification desired (or equivalent ITSM qualification)Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement initiatives preferredProject management certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is a plusKnowledge of Manufacturing IT systems : MES, ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.), SCADA, PLCs, and shop-floor applicationsExperience managing industrial IT infrastructure : VLANs, firewalls, servers, virtual environments (VMware / Hyper-V), and industrial PCsFamiliarity with IT / OT convergence and industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT)Strong understanding of ITSM frameworks (ITIL v4 preferred)Experience with Jira, ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or equivalent ITSM toolsUnderstanding of cybersecurity principles and network segmentation in OT environmentsExcellent leadership and team management capabilitiesStrong communication skills - able to interface between IT, operations, and business stakeholdersAnalytical mindset with problem-solving and root cause analysis experienceVendor negotiation and contract management skillsAbility to work under pressure in 24x7 manufacturing environmentsCompliance knowledge : FDA 21 CFR Part 11, ISO 13485, ISO 27001, GDPR (as applicable)About ATL Technology :
