Your Role

As the Global Services Customs Manager, you will take ownership of customs operations across multiple countries, ensuring regulatory compliance, service excellence, and operational efficiency. In this pivotal role, you will also lead the strategic migration of customs-related activities from various regions into our Global Services hub in Costa Rica. Your responsibilities will span from managing ongoing operations to implementing automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a seasoned customs professional with a global mindset and a passion for driving transformation through effective stakeholder engagement and process optimization.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution and optimization of customs operations, ensuring full compliance with local, country, and global regulations.
  • Manage and develop the Customs Team, fostering a culture of performance, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive the strategic migration of customs processes from multiple countries into the Global Services hub.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to identify and implement centralized, automated, and scalable solutions.
  • Apply knowledge of US ISF (Sea Logistics Customs Manifest Process).
  • Analyze operational data and lead migration plans in alignment with business goals and quality standards.
  • Represent Global Services in audits, and compliance reviews.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Familiarity with US ISF process within global customs operations.
  • Proven experience leading process migration and data analysis in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management across diverse, global teams.
  • Experience : Minimum 5 years in leadership, preferably within logistics or freight forwarding.
  • Strong knowledge of customs : file and declaration creation, Incoterms, basic HS Code understanding.
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Logistics, Customs Administration, or related fields.
  • Languages : English C1 (fluency required), Spanish native or fluent.
  • Certifications : Customs certification (e.g., CCS) preferred; Six Sigma or similar a plus.
  • Tools : Proficient in customs systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analytics tools.
  • Key Competencies : Leadership, strategic thinking, adaptability, problem-solving, and excellent communication.
