Sr Software Engineer

We’re hiring a Sr. Software Engineer for a fully remote opportunity based in Cartago 10001, Costa Rica. This is a long-term contract role with a leading global technology solutions provider that fosters innovation, collaboration, and growth in a fast-paced, cutting-edge environment.

In this role, you’ll join the Software Engineering team to design, develop, and support cloud-based digital privacy technologies. You’ll play a key part in building new solutions and migrating existing services to AWS, all while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

There is no application deadline for this role.

Sr. Software Engineer Responsibilities :

Implement new digital privacy technologies using AWS cloud programming.

Support migration of existing services to AWS.

Collaborate with Business, Software Engineers, and QA teams.

Contribute to the full SDLC using Agile (scrum meetings, test-driven development, task estimates, design sessions).

Support ongoing development and maintenance of services.

Sr. Software Engineer Qualifications :

BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or related field.

5+ years of software design & development (OOP, multithreading, scalability, transaction management).

2+ years of AWS services development experience.

2+ years of Java development experience.

3+ years of PHP development experience.

3+ years of relational database development (MySQL preferred).

Strong knowledge of web services, data modeling, and database design.

Experience with version control (SVN or Git).

Excellent communication and planning skills.

Experience with large datasets.

MongoDB or NoSQL databases (preferred).

Continuous Integration (Jenkins, Infrastructure as Code, containers) (preferred).

Perl, JSON, RHEL / CentOS, regular expressions (preferred).

Ruby on Rails (preferred).

Industry experience in Financial Services or Identity Protection (preferred).
