Mid-Level Backend Operator

The Mid-Level Backend Operator role is a full-time, remote position requiring an intermediate level of experience and strong English communication skills.

The role involves ensuring the smooth operation and quality assurance of production databases and data services.

Key responsibilities

• On-Call Operations :
• Handle urgent operational tasks on the database and data services.
• Monitor and maintain database performance and error logging.
• Manage and troubleshoot data pipelines.
• Respond to system alerts and address potential bottlenecks or failures.
• Quality Assurance for Production Sites :
• Verify data consistency and integrity across production systems.
• Test new database features or updates before deployment.
• Collaborate with the development team to document and address system bugs.
• Analyze and report issues affecting user experience or data accuracy.
• Collaboration and Documentation :
• Work with cross-functional teams to maintain system quality.
• Document procedures, issues, and solutions for future reference.

The candidate should have a solid understanding of SQL (preferably PostgreSQL), XSLT, XML, and JSON. Preferred qualifications include experience with JIRA ticketing, strong documentation skills, and a background in sports or sports betting. The position requires working 5 days a week with a 1 day per month weekend rotation.
