Production Supervisor

PURPOSE OF JOB The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing the leaders of each Production line.

You must ensure production and train team members to operate at their best.

Leadership responsibility is expected to be demonstrated by personal example and efficient, conscientious work habits.

You are expected to report to work one-half hour before the normal shift begins to complete pending jobs and check that workstations are ready and leave one-half hour after the normal end of the day to review the day's events with your Coordinator o Manager and do pre-planning for the next day.

JOB OPERATION / ELEMENTS Responsibilities Instruct new employees in the use and understanding of company systems, procedures and policies.

Train them in the use of measurement instruments and techniques, emphasizing the quality standards expected at Theragenics Costa Rica Train the staff in the procedures of each operation and the production equipment necessary to make the parts.

Assist the Coordinator or Manager in the daily scheduling of work assignments and communicate the requirements to the respective process areas.

Communicate production rates and production expectations to leaders and operators.

Interact with other departments to set priorities and coordinate the movement of material through the process.

Maintain an adequate level of department supplies, ordering necessary items as required.

Periodic audit of production processes, as well as the performance of the operator within the department.

This includes : the revision of the machine, the precision parameters, the achievement of the quality standards of the product to meet the specifications.

Assist the Coordinator or Manager in dealing with personnel issues, such as job performance, manpower requirements, or other issues affecting the department.

Ensure control and compliance with production department rates.

Ensure that the visual aids to measure the work and the necessary information are completed on time and correctly.

Create and deliver the disciplinary actions that correspond to the personnel following the due production process, and in accordance with the internal regulations and the labor code in force for Costa Rica.

Make recommendations for improvement Performs other tasks as needed.  REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION : High school baccalaureate, basic university, or the equivalent of 5 years of experience in the supervisory position.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing such as Kaisen events, value stream mapping, six sigma, one piece flow, line balance, OEE, among others.

Leadership skills Reading and comprehension of English at a basic level Basic knowledge of Word, Excel and Power Point, basic knowledge of statistics EXPERIENCE : Requires 3-5 years of experience as a Leader or Assistant Production Supervisor, and applying comprehensive leadership, coaching and mentoring skills and experience running the operations and equipment used by the department.

Experience in lean manufacturing and six sigma processes with the minimum tools to implement a continuous improvement process.

Note : This position is for Shift B.

Monday to Friday from 3 : 30 pm to 10 : 00 pm and Saturday from 6 : 00 am to 3 : 00 pm.
